Eat What I Say, Not What I Do

The first lady was in Fort Worth, Texas, yesterday to discuss her “Let’s Move” initiative to fight childhood obesity. This meeting on healthy eating — wait for it — was held at an Olive Garden.

More from Politico as to why Olive Garden:

While the Olive Garden is better known for its bottomless pasta, the appearance is due to a commitment by the restaurant’s parent company to offer healthier options for children. Darden, the corporation which owns Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Longhorn Steakhouse, signed a legal agreement last year to offer healthier side dishes and better food options for children’s menus.

What total and complete crap. Here’s the “children’s menu” from the Olive Garden. Not a single thing on there fits what Michelle Obama would call “healthy heating.” Or is 330 calories and 930 mg of sodium in the chicken fingers now considered White House–approved as a “healthy choice”?
