The Campaign Spot

Too Many Good Candidates in One District

It’s not a disaster for the GOP, but it’s a little frustrating to see so many good candidates up against each other in a House primary: Diggs Brown, a former Fort Collins, Colorado, city council member who just completed a year of active military duty overseas, is making his campaign for Congress official.

But he’s up against state representative Cory Gardner of Yuma and University of Colorado regent Tom Lucero in the primary. Local Republicans rave about Gardner as a rising star, while Lucero fought the good fight in trying to get Ward Churchill out of the University of Colorado system.

The winner of the primary scrum gets to take on Democrat Betsy Markey.
