Pelosi’s Case Against Criticism: ‘Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American.’

Cuffy accurately observes that next to bringing in AFL-CIO members, there’s no better way to calm down a tense and heated argument than to call those who disagree with you “un-American.”

It’s one thing to speak off-the-cuff and have the words come out clumsily, such as when Pelosi seemed to suggest that evidence that the protests were professionally “manufactured” was the use of Nazi imagery; one would have to look far and wide to find a professional PR agency that urges the use of swastikas to persuade the American public. But now in an opinion piece submitted to USA Today, Pelosi’s continuing to demonize the critics of the bill and dismiss them as illegitimate.
