The Campaign Spot

A Curious Edit at the New York Times

The New York Times runs a piece on McCain dealing with staffers who have done past lobbying work, who may return to it in the future, or who have taken leaves of absence from lobbying firms.

There are only a few brief references to Barack Obama in the piece. Among them:

The campaign of Mr. Obama, too, includes lobbyists among its unpaid advisers, and staff members who try to help private clients influence government policy.

I am told that line was not in the regional print edition.
Of course, I’m sure that line had to be the first to go, due to space limitations. Of course.
