Over in Oregon:
Oregon Attorney General John Kroger swept into office six months ago with promises of an aggressive administration. But in his first big political test, Kroger chose to punt after a five-month investigation of Portland Mayor Sam Adams, saying he lacked the evidence to prosecute Adams for his sexual relationship with a teenager.
The decision, announced last week, disappointed people who want the mayor recalled. Reporters questioned why Kroger hadn’t convened a grand jury to personally grill Adams and others under oath. At least 15 times during a 30-minute news conference, a tense Kroger directed reporters to read the report.
It will come as an enormous shock to you to learn that Kroger and Adams are both Democrats.
