Could 25 Percent of Republicans Really Vote Against Mitt Romney?

Team Romney tells the Corner that as voters get to know Mitt Romney, they’ll start to like him more, pointing to Iowa and New Hampshire.

Still, the Romneyites have to be a little concerned with Rasmussen numbers saying not merely that 44 percent of respondents would vote against the former Masschusetts governor, a number that is one percentage point higher than Hillary Clinton (!) but that 25 percent of Republicans say they would definitely vote against him.
Soren Dayton, no fan of Romney to begin with, contends, “2004 was a squeaker. Bush won by the skin of his teeth, with something like 90% of Republicans behind him. If Romney is losing 1-in-4, he is in deep, deep trouble.”
