The Campaign Spot

54 Percent of Republicans Think a Huckabee Iowa Win in Iowa Is ‘Temporary Victory’

Hmm.

Gallup asked, “If Mitt Romney wins the Iowa caucus, do you think that would be – [ROTATED: a temporary victory for his campaign, (or do you think it would be) a sign that he is a serious challenger to win the Republican nomination]?”
The answer among Republicans (the only ones I’d be particularly interested in a Republican primary): 45 percent said “temporary victory”, 53 percent said “serious challenger.”
Asked the same question for Huckabee, 54 percent said “temporary”, 43 percent said “serious challenger.”
They also asked, “If Rudy Giuliani loses both the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary in the Republican campaign for president, would you view that as – [ROTATED: a temporary setback for his campaign, (or as) a sign that his campaign is in serious trouble]?”
38 percent of Republicans said “temporary setback,” 61 percent said, “serious trouble.”
