Rob Portman on the Regulatory Cliff

Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) has an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal outlining a number of new regulatory initiatives scheduled to take hold early next year that could have a profound impact on the economy. I’ve long been of the view that we overestimate the relative importance of the tax code while underestimating the importance of regulation, so I found the article to be of great interest.

For more on the subject of federal regulation, I strongly recommend Regulation: A Primer, a short volume by Susan Dudley of George Washington University and Jerry Brito of George Mason University’s Mercatus Center.
