Ramesh Ponnuru’s Interview with Grover Norquist

Though I wouldn’t sign the Americans for Tax Reform pledge, Grover Norquist makes a decent case for it in a wide-ranging conversation with Ramesh Ponnuru. In a world in which it is easier to pour concrete and raise taxes than to force dysfunctional public sector institutions to increase efficiency, tax restraint is an important lever. The problem, however, is that it can’t be the only lever, which is why we need more conservatives who are interested in the mechanics of public sector reform.
