I am very happy to see my friends on the center-left, including Matt Yglesias, embrace the deep structural reforms included in the Domenici-Rivlin plan. If the left embraces the Domenici-Rivlin approach to Medicare, I’ll dance in the streets. This is a terrific, terrific start, and I plan to talk more about it soon. To be sure, the tax proposals are a mixed big, but we’ll discuss that too.
