One Year Later, Another Frightening Home-Plate Collision in San Fran

Everyone remembers last year’s collision that ended Buster Posey’s season.

Yesterday, Collin Cowgill’s head rang Tim Lincecum’s bell.

Lincecum had just uncorked a wild pitch that took Posey a few precious moments to track down, thereby empowering Cowgill, who had been on second base, to ignore his third-base coach and make the wild dash for home.

“The Freak” was able to get out of the inning without further damage and was subsequently lifted for a pinch hitter. The A’s won the game, 6-2.
