Planet Gore

The Ghosts of Hopes Past

Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont offers this gem in today’s E&E Daily about how the Obama and McCain administrations might approach the issue of legislating Kyoto-style energy rationing schemes in the name of global warming:

“Leahy sees another positive in the Illinois Democrat. ‘In an Obama administration, you’d see one of his closest advisers would be Al Gore. And that gives me a lot of hope.’”

[Chuckle.] Obama, the candidate of hope, with old Dem warhorses from administrations past whispering in his ear (anyone catch yesterday’s photo op with the economic team? Volcker, Tyson and Rubin oh my).
Where does the “change” come in exactly? (See ”wrenching transformation.”)
