Attacking Gov. Palin on the Pipeline

Over in the Media Blog, we have links to interviews Gov. Palin gave this morning to Wolf Blitzer and Matt Lauer where they challenge her on her enormous natural-gas pipeline project. Here’s the Wall Street Journal article that both interviewers cite when questioning the governor. The news is that Exxon has joined the effort to get the pipeline built, thus increasing the actual likelihood of the project moving forward. Both Blitzer and Lauer are questioning the wisdom of spending money on a pipeline when there is a glut of gas on the market now.  Matt Lauer was especially condescending in his questioning. Neither Lauer or Blitzer took the next logical step to acknowledge that more supply will mean lower prices for Americans, however.

Rewind now to 2006 when Matt Lauer was questioning the CEO of Exxon and asked, “would Exxon lower profits to help out in this time of need?“  Evil Big-Oil and those profits, remember?

Come on Matt, make up your mind. Are you mad at Exxon for high prices when there isn’t enough fuel on the market, or are you mad at Exxon for spending money to lower fuel prices?
