It’s only $65,000 (for now), a tiny drop in the barrel, but still it’s money
the federal government has no business ladling out. I’m talking about a
federal grant for a wine program at Appalachian State University. Story here.
Just because some wine is produced in western North Carolina, why is it
necessary that a state university nearby must have a wine program?
Apparently, NC wine producers have somehow managed to find the knowledgeable
people it needs up until now by hiring them or simply training them. The
notion that universities need to train people in the making of wine feeds
the credential inflation beast.
