A Stern Look at “School Reformer” Ayers

Sol Stern dissects unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers’s longstanding devotion to “critical pedagogical” theory, which exhorts teachers to teach students, in the name of “social justice,” to reject the “oppressive” capitalist social order. Accordingly, the readings Ayers assigns to his education students is:

as intellectually diverse as a political commissar’s indoctrination session in one of his favorite communist tyrannies. The list for his urban education course includes the bible of the critical pedagogy movement, Brazilian Marxist Paolo Freire’s “Pedagogy of the Oppressed”; two books by Mr. Ayers himself; and “Teaching to Transgress” by bell hooks (lower case), the radical black feminist writer.

An Obama presidential victory would undoubtedly serve to advance what Stern rightfully calls Ayers’s “school-destroying” movement.
