Prolonging the Depression

Apparently the protective coating that FDR enjoyed for so many decades has worn off. Books and articles — both academic and general-readership — showing that Roosevelt and the New Deal did not pull the U.S. out of the slump but instead made it longer and more severe are now being published frequently. Here is a paper written by UCLA professors Harold Cole and Lee Ohanian.
