The Parade of Leftist Speakers at NC State

In this week’s Clarion Call, my Pope Center colleague Jay Schalin writes about the big-name speaker series at North Carolina State, run by the wife of former Democratic governor Mike Easley. The series, which most recently brought Bill Clinton, has been a parade of liberals, with just two Republicans (South Carolina senator Lindsay Graham, who has proven to be a big disappointment for free-market advocates and conservatives, and David Gergen, who is really just a centrist insider) for “balance.”

Students would benefit much more from speakers who challenge the Republicat status quo.
