The University of Chicago Writing Program has created a funny program, “Write your own academic sentence.”
There are four lists, each one containing academic buzz words such as “pedagogical institutions” and “the gendered body.”
I selected “linguistic transparency,” “post-capitalist hegemony,” “historicization,” and “reification.”
The result: “The reification of post-capitalist hegemony recapitulates the historicization of linguistic transparency.” If you click edit, the program will reword your sentence. “The reification of linguistic transparency recapitulates the historicization of post-capitalist hegemony” and “The historicization of linguistic transparency recapitulates the reification of post-capitalist hegemony.”
Go ahead and give it the old college try.
