Not Mere Student ‘Pranks’

In the case of the five British students sentenced to prison in a terror case, Bill highlighted, one, the skepticism on the part of some people that there are really “radicals” on UK campuses and, two, criticism of the government’s increased monitoring of such students’ activity on campuses. 
These folks need a reality check, however. In this case, investigators discovered a military guide giving instructions on how to make explosive devices, a suicide bombing manual, and chat-room conversations encouraging terrorism or martyrdom
“This was not just a case of adolescent fantasy or young men messing around and talking big to impress their friends,” the head of the prosecution service’s counterterrorism division, Susan Hemming, said.
