The Gap Year

The December 29 Wall Street Journal featured a story about students who take a “gap” year between high school and college. The story itself is not particularly informative (some kids like it, some don’t), but featuring a year off as an alternative to the steady march to college is a good one. Anything we can do to help young people be more “intentional” (to use a popular phrase) about college once they arrive is a step forward.
