An illegal migrant who allegedly participated in assaulting NYPD officers was arrested Wednesday for allegedly robbing a department store and assaulting an employee.

NYPD Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry said Wednesday one of the migrants who allegedly assaulted officers in Times Square was part of a group that robbed a department store in Queens and assaulted an employee in the process.

“One of the migrants who assaulted our officers last week in Times Square is back at it again,” Daughtry said Wednesday on X. He posted two wanted posters, one of the migrant Darwin Gomez-Izquiel, a 19-year-old hispanic male, and the other of the group of robbery suspects.

“This time he was part of a group that robbed a department store in Queens. They also assaulted an employee. Different borough, different crime — same disregard for the law. This is the last thing NYers need,” he added.

Gomez-Izquiel was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with robbery and petite larceny, the New York Post reported. He is one of four suspects accused of entering a Macys and acting in coordinating in an attempt to steal clothes by hiding the items in bags.

One of the suspects allegedly punched a security guard when he confronted the group, causing minor injuries for the employee.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced on February 8 seven of the illegal migrants caught on camera assaulting NYPD officers were indicted by a grand jury. Gomez-Izquiel was one of the migrants arrested the week before for their role in assaulting the police officers, Bragg said in a press release.

“As this thorough investigation continues, the men and women of the NYPD remain committed to working with the office of the Manhattan district attorney to ensure that everyone who took part in this despicable incident is held fully accountable for their actions,” said NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban in the press release.

Gomez-Izquiel faces two counts of second-degree assault and one count of second-degree obstruction of government administration. He was one of the migrants released without bail prior to the indictment being announced and was thought to be on the run.

The NYPD believes up to 14 migrants participated in the apparent beating of police officers in Times Square on January 27.

New York City is expanding its overnight curfew for migrant shelters to combat the uptick in violence from illegal migrants after the Times Square police assault and another violent incident in the area involving a 15-year-old migrant who allegedly opened fire at tourists and a police officer.
