I was asked by the San Francisco Chronicle to write an extended piece that would be a look into the crystal ball about the controversies that can be expected to roil society over issues of science and biotech in coming years. This is it. Among the matters discussed are personhood theory, the “right to reproduce,” and whether there is a right in the constitution to conduct scientific research.
