What’s the Truth about Catholics and Mary?

“What disturbs me most about the opposition to Mary is that it is so unchivalrous,” Bill Buckley once said. It’s in that spirit that I’ll moderate a discussion on Monday about the Mother of God and the Rosary in preparation for the feast of the Assumption.

A former colleague once referred to the Catholic feast (and Holy Day of Obligation) as the annual childhood memory of his mother making their family take a break from their beach vacation to go to Mass on an August weekday.

This should be a bit like friends getting together to geek out on faith — I’ll be talking with three Dominican priests I know pretty well: Father Aquinas Guilbeau (chaplain at The Catholic University of America), Father Sebastian White (editor of Magnificat), and Father Patrick Mary Briscoe (editor of Our Sunday Visitor). I expect it to be educational, pastoral, practical, and accessible.

And a preview of an in-person Rosary pilgrimage that is happening in Washington, D.C., in September that you may be interested in putting on your calendar.

You can register to join us virtually Monday (August 14) live at 3 p.m. Eastern here. I think it will be welcome spiritual refreshment for many. And do feel free to bring your questions.
