What the Snowman Might Ask Mitt Romney Tomorrow Night

Is his health plan responsible for this?

Parents who spank their kids – even in their own homes – would be slapped by the long arm of the law under an Arlington nurse’s proposal to make Massachusetts the first state in the nation to outlaw corporal punishment.

UPDATE: This was a bad joke. (It was an indication of my high hopes for the debate.) There is no connection.

And an e-mail:

As a current hostage in the People’s Republic, I can assure you this bill is merely for show.

You may already know this, but there is a Mass. law requiring state Reps. to submit to a vote any bill given to them by a citizen. So, I could give my state Rep. a bill outlawing the Boston Globe or setting term limits on Senators with the last name Kennedy, and he would be required by law to submit that bill for a vote.

This is one of those bills, and it will go nowhere.
