Well, This is Odd

Yesterday I commented that there are good reasons to be skeptical about proposals for a formal alliance of democracy, but that one of the arguments Paul Saunders made against it was mistaken–that this argument, taken seriously, would make us shun alliances in general. Nicholas Gvosdev seems to believe that he is somehow responding to my point by observing that you can oppose an alliance of democracies while supporting alliances in particular cases. Yup. That’s, um, my position.
