Democrats hope to discredit it with a series of complaints about process: They don’t have enough members on the committee, Republicans are fundraising off the investigation, etc., etc. The media, of course, will be sympathetic to these arguments. Which makes it all the more important that Republicans follow Krauthammer’s advice in his column today to play the investigation very straight.
