There was a moment in the pandemic when Dr. Leana Wen said that cloth surgical masks were little more than “useless face decorations” in the face of Covid-19 and the then-current Omicron variant. This was obvious to many of us, but it was now being uttered by a certified member of the credentialed class.
Well, I thought, if this can be admitted now, anything can. It meant that the schools that operated without incident using “useless face decorations” could, in fact, give up their use entirely.
Something similar happened tonight regarding Joe Biden’s mental and physical state. Every single anchor and talking head on MSNBC and CNN admitted to seeing what was plainly true and obvious. It was now a thing that liberals can discuss without embarrassment and without fear that they are needlessly helping their enemies.
It’s an important lesson that liberal morale will always treated as the most precious resource on earth. And there is nothing that cannot be sacrificed for it. The national economy, the nation’s security, all but trifles compared to the self-esteem of liberal opinion leaders.
