Twelve Things that Caught My Eye Today (Jan. 29, 2015)

1. I love the title on this: 800 Years of Prayer.

2.

3. From Alabama:

Geneva County Probate Judge Fred Hamic didn’t think his one opinion would cause such a stir. But since he told us his stance on same sex marriages the community hasn’t held back. In just two days the judge even receiving threats.

“Yea, I’ve gotten a couple of telephone calls that have actually threatened bodily harm and that’s a heck of a situation when you cannot express your opinion without someone threatening to hurt you,” said Judge Hamic.

Hamic said that he would give same sex couples marriage licenses should the law require him to do so, but he would stop performing ceremonies for all couples due to his religious beliefs.

But for some people that just isn’t good enough.

“If people have a problem with it, they’ve got the same right to express their freedom of speech as I do,” he said.

4. 2016, Hillary Clinton, and ¯_(ツ)_/¯. I read it through and now you may, too.

5. I’m not sure I see this …

6. Seriously, this month is marking what must be the earliest brokered-convention daydreaming ever.
