Ernest Lee, the driver coordinator for Truckers for the Constitution, tells me that based on the number of e-mail registrations he’s gotten there should be about 10,000 truckers heading to the Beltway this weekend.
“It’s kind of like a warning shot across the bow of Washington,” he tells me, describing the purpose of the drive. ”In other words, you better start paying attention to the people, because the people are angry. The people are angry and we demand that the federal government fit itself inside the framework of the Constitution.”
