Andrew, your post brought back some memories, and not good ones. The guy you quote says that certain people who disagree with him are “Uncle Tom American Indians.” He needs to get with the program: The epithet is “Uncle Tomahawk,” or at least it was when I was growing up. Also, Indians who didn’t meet with the Left’s approval were called “apples”: red on the outside, white on the inside. Nice, huh? Similarly, Hispanics the Left disapproved of were called “coconuts”: brown on the outside, white on the inside.
Furthermore, women who weren’t radical feminists were called “Aunt Toms.” Ah, those were the days — toxic, nasty days. These names were part of what repelled me about the Left. The toxicity and nastiness linger . . .
(It is possible to make arguments without name-calling. I have to remind myself of that, as do we all, I guess.)
