The Students Read and Write Poorly, but They Must Take ‘Ethnic Studies’

On PowerLine, John Hinderaker considers the requirement in St. Paul, Minn., public schools that to graduate, students must take “Critical Ethnic Studies.”

Most of the students do poorly at basic academic skills, but they’ll have to spend a semester immersed in the blather about intersectionality, racial equity, oppression, and so on.

Hinderaker correctly observes that, “The ultimate purpose is to turn young people into racist, America-hating social justice activists.”  Indeed so. The main function of public education these days is to implant leftist ideas in the minds of young people, to make them receptive to Democratic Party talking points in the future. They have a captive audience and mean to use their control for propaganda.

Public education used to merely be incompetent, but now it’s poisonous.
