Tea-Party Businessman to Challenge McConnell

Senator Mitch McConnell looks likely to face a primary opponent.

Businessman Matt Bevin will make an announcement on Wednesday regarding his plans for a Senate run, and then will tour Kentucky over the next three days.

McConnell has been actively working to fend off challengers. He has been endorsed by tea-party senator Rand Paul, and McConnell hired former Ron Paul campaign manager Jesse Benton to run his campaign in Kentucky. McConnell staffers have done dozens of meetings with tea-party groups.
