Last week, I think, I was talking about big buzzwords of the Left: “sustainable,” “progressive,” “social justice” (a weasel phrase, rather than a weasel word, to be sure), etc. Well, a reader pointed out that, in Reykjavik, a comedian was running for mayor on the slogan “sustainable transparency” — neatly combining, and poking fun at, two of the Left’s (and therefore the world’s) most cherished words. You know? He won. Check it out.
P.S. I guess the new mayor, Jon Gnarr, is the Al Franken of Iceland. I imagine he’s nicer, though — the mayor, I mean.
P.P.S. Remember when Franken made fun of that conservative student’s speech defect? Perhaps the senator has grown by now . . .
