The more I think about it, the more I think Clinton went into this interview with a plan of some kind to go off on Wallace. Perhaps not as wildly as what actually transpired, but when you listen to the talking points from the DNC and Clinton’s office it sounds like Clinton wanted to prove that he’s a “fighting Dem” as the lefty bloggers say. Attacking Fox News is a candy for the Democratic base in the same way that Poppa Bush’s attack on Dan Rather (what about those 7 minutes Dan?) in 1988 was for the GOP. In fact, I’m kind of stunned I’ve never seen an “Annoy Fox News Elect [insert Dem here]” bumper sticker.
