On today’s edition of The Editors, our panelists discuss Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro’s disappointing backtracking on school choice.

Michael points out that “there’s a gun to the party’s head.” “Teachers’ unions are an important vector for turnout, especially in off-year elections,” he reminds us. “It is an important interest group for Democrats and a loyal one. . . . But the thing is, one way to get rid of that gun to your head is . . . to create new conditions with an act of major disobedience.”
