The failure of President Obama’s policies is the main reason why he’s sounded so repetitive as of late, Paul Ryan says. “There wasn’t a new idea here,” he said.

“If his policies, which have been in place for five years, were so successful, we might be willing to entertain that,” the House Budget Committee chairman said after the speech. “He’s basically saying, ‘Let’s just keep doing more of the same,’ which — look at where we are.”

Ryan also accused the president of “going around the Constitution” in his recent vow to take executive actions, arguing it constituted a “violation of his oath.”
