Rule No. 1 for Republican Presidential Appointments

Ron DeSantis could have avoided this mess if he had abided by the first rule of Republican presidential appointments:

  1. Do not, under any circumstances, appoint a member of the Kennedy family to any position.

It does not matter which Kennedy, and it does not matter which position. You’re a Republican, so the answer is no.
