Rudy Leading in Iowa and New Hampshire?

That’s what new polls from the firm ARG say. I know some people are a little skeptical of ARG, so I am reporting this in a highly conditional tone. But the professional rap on Giuliani has been that while he has done well in national polls, he isn’t doing well in state polling, especially in the early states. That rap hasn’t exactly been accurate — he was leading in South Carolina, for example, until Thompson began to move in the past six weeks — but it was the last line of defense for the “Rudy can’t possibly win the nomination” crowd. If he is indeed competitive in Iowa and New Hampshire to the extent that one poll has him leading Mitt Romney, this is a serious development. If he wins one of those two states, he will probably win the nomination.
