Last night I attended the wake of Elizabeth Maguire, Vice President and Publisher of Basic Books, who died, age 47, on Sunday. She had a long and glittering list of authors, right, left, and center (including Fr. Neuhaus, George Weigel, Michael Novak, and me). She was a delight to work for. May she rest in peace.
