Rick Perry’s Unconventional Plans for Autumn

Former Texas Governor Rick Perry says he’s appearing on this season of Dancing With the Stars to help veterans’ charities.

Whatever you think of the show, and the prospect of Perry competing alongside Vanilla Ice and Amber Rose, it’s certainly good to help veterans. (Dancing with the Stars contestants get, at minimum, $125,000 for participating; those who reach the final episode make $345,000. Quite a few celebrity contestants donate their winnings to charity.)

(Judging by how quickly Perry turned around after his  “Donald Trump’s candidacy is a cancer on conservatism” comment, I guess he already knows the pirouette.)

Then again, we’ve got a conservative governor who presided over an economic boom who’s on a reality show, and a reality show host as the Republican nominee for president. The entire year is upside-down.
