Kirby and family went to the Black Tie & Boots Party last night. The fire marshall stopped letting folks into the big party about 90 minutes before the President dropped by. Still, Kirby and company still had fun.
This morning as we took the Metro in from Crystal City to Heritage (where we are broadcasting from this week) a group of protesters got on the train at the George Washington University stop. It was very obvious who they were and what they are planning to do. We’ve talked to a handful of protest groups on the show and they plan physical obstruction today. Nothing peaceful like we saw in NYC at the RNC. I plan on going out into the thick of it with recorder in hand. I’ll report back this afternoon.
