From one:
McCain still sounds oily on Illegal immigration, but he is beginning to give me confidence with him being the nominee. I have been in opposition to him since 2000 (I am from Arizona). We will see if his words today mean something tomorrow.
And another:
This is easier than I thought. As a Thompson supporter, then Romney, I was unsure what to do if (when) McCain secured the nomination. Now that it has happened, the answer is clear – the thought of Obama/Clinton is intolerable; I’ll be supporting McCain and hoping for the best.
Not everyone will feel so good about it, but I think the proper reaction to McCain’s victory is: Don’t Panic. The world has not been destroyed just yet.
The speech was very good. McCain made a point of hitting the issues of guns-babies-taxes. He also hit national security, to a warm response.
C-Span is reporting that Saul Anuzis, chairman of Michigan’s Republican Party, has cancelled his scheduled response to McCain.
