Re: Three Men and a Baby

I am all for freedom of conscience, Kathryn. That’s why I don’t want to force men (or women) to get married or force churches to recognize gay marriages. Nor do I want to force people who don’t like homosexuality or gay marriages to pass some p.c. litmus test or face state sanction. Heck, I even go so far as civil libertarian Nat Hentoff (who I can now proudly call my colleague) and dismiss hate-crime legislation as thought-crime legislation and consider it unworthy of support by freedom-loving people of whatever stripe.

None of that, however, has much to do with the intellectual case for or against gay marriage as far as I can tell.
