Derb – forgive me if I’m wrong but you seem to be moving into more and more of a celebratory stance when it comes to populism. That’s your right, of course. But it baffles me a bit. Regardless, I do think John O’Sullivan has made the best arguments on this front. Of course runaway and arrogant elites invite populist backlashes. That’s why he’s always argued for reasonable immigration restrictions and the like, as way to keep these issues from falling into irresponsible hands like the BNP, David Duke et al.
