Several readers: “He only got away with it because he’s rich and famous.”

Me: Well, I’m sure being rich and famous didn’t hurt. But the other side of this coin is that if you’re rich and famous, you’re going to be the target of a lot of shake-down attempts.

Taking the two things together, I figure they are a wash.
