Re: Harry Reid, False Pro-Lifer

One connection between Senate majority leader Harry Reid’s ignorant braying about Chief Justice Roberts and Ramesh’s observation that Reid falsely still calls himself pro-life:  When the Supreme Court, by a 5 to 4 vote — with Roberts and Alito both in the majority — ruled (correctly) in 2007 that the federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act was constitutionally permissible, Reid complained, “A lot of us wish that Alito weren’t there and O’Connor were there” — a very strange observation given that Reid himself was one of many Democrats to vote for the federal law. (Reid’s office later issued a statement claiming/clarifying that Reid supported the decision.)
