I’ll end my comments here as well by adding this final thought. I am extremely concerned about the direction of the Republican Party as well. It has lost its conservative moorings. But that has to do more with the Republican Party than the conservative movement. And we can demonstrate this on issue after issue. That’s what people like Rush and Sean do everyday, and that’s why they’re popular (as opposed to populists — which I know Jonah doesn’t attribute to them, but more to Fox). As for Fox, I don’t think the broad-brush works. Bill O’Reilly is a “populist.” Sean Hannity is a conservative. Napolitano is a libertarian. Van Susteren is a liberal. And so forth.
