The Palestinian News Service reports that PA President Mahmoud Abbas had a lovely meeting yesterday with UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Abbas “hailed the UAE continued support to the Palestinian people steadfastness, in the different fields, against the Israeli Occupation Forces aggressive acts.”
The story continues: “For his part, Sheikh Al Nahyan asserted the UAE and his support to the Palestinian people to reach their legal national rights to establish their Palestinian independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.”
I’d make the observation that “If this is the kind of stuff they say when they know we’re watching them …” — but that would be cynical.
