Only Fools Follow The Rules

One of several:

“What is really crazy is that on the other hand, my family was trying to get permission for my aunt’s sister in the Phillipines to come here to help care for her after her heart transplant. They went through the proper channels, trying to prove that because this woman had her own business, husband, family and other major ties in the Phillipines, she would definitely be returning once my aunt recovered from the surgery. Despite the fact that she was upfront, had a moderate-sized bank account, was able to support herself, and demonstrated compelling reasons to return to her homeland within 6 months, they would not grant her a visa. (They were told, ‘Too many people stay and don’t go back.’) I told my uncle that he should just fly her to Mexico and let her walk across the border and catch a bus to Philadelphia…”

[Derb] A relative of my wife’s, a college lecturer in chemistry in mainland China, was invited over here to a conference at Purdue. He went to the local US consulate to get a visa, got turned down. This kind of stuff happens every day. What would the pro-illegals crowd say to these people? “Suckers!” I suppose.
