One Man’s “Exotic” Is Another Man’s Daily Bread

After reading Derb’s post about exotic notations, my wife asked if I didn’t use Ackermann’s function several times a day, and I said the only function I use more often is up-arrow notation from Ramsey theory. They make balancing the check book so easy.
